Some of you will already know that earlier this year Forest-of-Teesdale School which featured in Addicted to Sheep was threatened to be closed by Durham County Council as it was seen as not being viable. It was sad news for the children, the parents and the community on a whole. We made some clips from the film available for them to use and show the benefits of having a small school in a rural area both for the children and the community. We are now delighted to say that after a lot of hard work from the School Board, the parents, the community and all of you who have signed a petition and showed your support Durham County Council decided to keep it open for now and for a lot longer we hope. Great news and a relief for everyone involved.

We still can’t believe that we have completed the 85 minutes version of Addicted to Sheep. We still have a lot of things to do in order to take the film to audiences but the team thought that before we continue on our journey, it was time for celebration! We are a happy bunch!

Post-production isn’t the final step in making a film. After the film is made, there are still festival submissions to pay for, legal, distribution and promotional costs to name but a few. Our post-production budget was small and largely based on a lot of good will from our small team who have all put their heart and soul into the film. We set out to raise £7K to complete our first indie feature-length documentary, Addicted to Sheep 2 weeks ago. With a three week campaign in mind, all from our own website to minimise admin fees, it’s been a steep learning curve, fun and frantic at times. We’re now moving into the final week and have learnt a lot! It’s about building an audience as much as raising the funds. Reaching out and raising awareness. Listening too.

We’ve been very busy co-producing our first indie feature length documentary and are now starting to let people know a little bit more about it while we are in post-production.
